My bird attacks my finger whenever I try scritching his cheek?

Why doesn!t my lovebird like scritches or being petyed? He loves cuddling with me, follows me around the house, sleeps on my shoulder very close to my neck, does tricks, I'm pretty sure he isnt afraid of my hand..what could it be? He also charges at my hand whenever I am puttimg food or treats in front of him even outside of his cage..he is nippy but veey attached to me...

I have the same problem, sadly. I think the problem could be hormones. I know my bird has been a lot nippier and louder since it started molting. The thing about food is that your bird is hungry, and it wants the treat/food. A lot of birds do this. If a person uses a spoon to give his bird food, the bird will probably attack and hate the spoon.
