my lovebird is breathing with difficulty, seems to be in pain!

Hi, can any one please suggest treatment for my blue lovebird, black masked 7- 8 yrs of age , he is behaving differently and is having difficulty in breathing ( no discharge from nose) , just tail bobbing while breathing through mouth, with eyes sometimes opened and sometimes closed. This situation is since yesterday, he is trying to eat and fighting his illness, ate few bites of apple today, he has enough energy to sit on a perch,
Can anyone please suggest some treatment that can be made possible at home? Please please suggest some treatment....

yes i have sought vet's advise....my lil blue bird is doing well now :) he is being treated with antibiotic and i have found improvement in him....

Did the vet say what he has and what happened?
