Hello friends.
Today I have opened a bag of mixed bird seeds and found there were some bugs inside like these http://springbranchexterminators.com/images/sawtoothed.jpg

As I have bought 5 bags some time ago, I can't return them now and all of the bags contain those creatures inside.

Would it be a problem if I remove all of these bugs and feed the seeds to my lovebirds?

Thanks!

These are the same kinds of bugs that can be found in flour or other grains. They are not poisonous but they are unappetizing when you think about feeding them to your lovebirds in seed. You can remove them and what I would do after that is store your seed in the freezer (freezer, not refrigerator). The cold temperatures will keep anything from hatching and it should take care of the problem. If you just remove the bugs, chances are there are more in the seed that can hatch. Freezing the seed is what you need to do.

Linda, thank you so much about the reply.
Fortunately, I have called the shop and they accepted all of the bugs and gave me refund even without the receipt.

Thanks again!

Good deal! In the future, store all seed, pellets, bird food in a freezer. I have a 12 cubic foot freezer chest dedicated just to food for my birds!
