Came home tonight to discover Peep had managed to escape the cage through the feeder door. Then proceeded to be especially cute and cuddly. I guess so I wouldn’t be mad. I do like the cuddly bits but I’m not so big on a developing pattern of biting my nose....

He's testing and exploring to see what you are like. He doesn't realize he's hurting so gently stop what he's doing and tell him "no bite." They just don't realize how strong the beak can pinch down! For escaping lovies, I use belt loop clips to fasten doors so they can't be opened. I do it for safety concerns.

I'm lucky in that regard with the O's. I actually forgot to latch their door last sunday after cleaning the cage. It wasn't until afternoon when Otis was climbing across the cage and the door started to open that anyone noticed. Otis just hung there looking at the open door and called to me to close it. They will not come out of the cage unless it's on fire.

DJ on the other hand....

They are getting more and more social every day. Oliver has even landed on my chest when there is nothing there to attract him. This morning I let them out before I was ready to get up. In short order I had two lovies exploring bed. Even Oliver has started preening my face. Not so gently yet, but it's a start. I was willing to give up on some of the closeness of Buddy because they are so happy together, but it looks like we really are becoming a flock.:happy::happy:

They continue to grow. Peep stepped up for the first time today. And they are both trying to preen me. None too gently, yet, but it’s early days.

You are making great progress with them! You love them and they give it all right back!
