Skye, my Turquoise Green Cheek Conure, passed away about 3 weeks ago. His legs became paralyzed and there was nothing my avian vet could do so I tried a holistic approach. However, nothing worked so I asked my vet to do a necropsy to find out what happened. Apparently, Skye had a small tumor about half the size of a pea growing in the kidney area and it pressed on a nerve that controlled motion to his feet. He was so traumatized by the loss of his feet that he just gave up the will to live. I've never seen this happen before but there was no infection present.
