Just a little joke someone emailed me:

One year at Thanksgiving my mom went to my sister's house for the traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided to play a trick. She told my sister that she needed something from the store.

When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen, and inserted it into the turkey, and re-stuffed the turkey. She then placed the bird(s) back in the oven. When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing.
When her serving spoon hit something; she reached in and pulled out the little bird.

With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed, "Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant bird!" At the reality of this horrifying news, my sister started to cry. It took the family two hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs.

   I could probably have pulled that one on my sister. :D

I thought she was going to say the cornish hen was her parrot that climbed in there

Jackie,

What a devious Mother. I think I like her :lol

The story did make me feel sorry for sister though. Dumb she might be, but good hearted for sure.

My mother attempted to play a similar joke on my brother-in-law one year. Every so often he threatened to kidnap and cook my pet rabbit. Whether he would actually do it or not, who knows; he probably just said it to try to get a rise out of me.

Anyway one year for Christmas we hid my bunny in a back room. My mother cooked a small chicken and somehow made it look like a cooked rabbit. After all of the other food was brought to the table, Mom brought the "rabbit" on a dinner plate and put it down in front of my brother-in-law.

At first he didn't know how to react ... but my nieces got VERY upset and we had to hold up dinner long enough for me to bring out my bunny to prove that he was still very much alive and kicking!
