Ok what i am about to ask is not lovebird related, but umm does involve EGGS.!!
While at the hosptial yesterday, Dear Jack was moaning about the awful food he as been getting, and somehow we got onto the topic of eggs.
I said how come we cant buy Turkey eggs??. We can buy Duck, Chicken Goose and Quail eggs. But you never ever see Turkey eggs for sale in a supermarket. He couldnt think why not, so i said, i will ask the board to see if any-one can throw a light on the answer. Must be a reason why we cant buy or eat Turkey eggs. After all you can buy turkeys to eat all the year around. Seems like, cant find the answer to "what came first, Chicken or the Egg."
Its got me stumped i can tell you. :lol
Hope every-one is well.
ta ta for now.
cassy. :grouphug:

When in doubt(and up early) google..lol. Turkey eggs are rare becasue most are used mainly to hatch other turkeys for other food. I guess they see a huge Turkey makes more money then eggs. Also Turkey eggs are 1 1/2 the times larger then a jumbo chicken egg and very high is cholesterol and fat.

The site I found said this about and orstrich egg

"Ostrich Eggs are hard to find, but one egg goes a long way. One ostrich egg is equal to 20 to 24 large chicken eggs. They are mainly sold for novelty value and one egg can be made into several large omelets or it can be scrambled."

I do not like eggs:x so no thanks.lol.
