My buddy recently got back from Iraq and is stuck at Ft. Dix, New Jersey for awhile longer (he's from Pittsburgh). So he decided to come over here and hang out last night and today. Before I could warn him he stuck his finger in the cage through the bars. Ditto went full speed into getting head skritches and hopped right on his hand when he opened the cage.
Now Ditto has seen Eric before but only for a short time and not in the last year while he was in Iraq. I can definately say he's not afraid of hands. Eric on the other hand got a bit startled when he flew from my shoulder to his head.
Eric did say that he noticed that Ditto is a much happier (and friendlier) bird now that he lives here alone with me. So I'm not just imagining it.
Extra millet for the Dittobird.

Oh I have no doubt about that. He started disliking her as soon as she brought him to my house.
And he's extra happy becuase he spent most of the day out of the cage and having a ball!

Dave,
I believe animals have very good instinct, and they know who they can trust. Obviously Eric is an animal lover, and Ditto perceived that instantly.
Hmmmmm, is he married??? Does he want to move to the Atlanta area????:lol. I happen to know a really sweet, military raised girl there. I'm sure her Daddy would approve;)

Ditto's buddy (Eric) came to visit again and he decided to let Ditto out when I had to run down to my dad's. He flew all over the house looking for me. Landed on Eric's head, flew back to the cage cheeping and went looking for me again. I could hear him cheeping and having a ball 2 blocks down the street. :lol

How cute, Ditto runs around the house looking for his daddy. Milo does that when his daddy is gone, too. :)

I was wondering what he'd do without me there. I was hoping he didn't get nasty. But nope, he's too friendly for that.
As soon as I walked in the door he was glued to me again.
