I live in Thailand. Bought young lovebird at local market..
went blind in both eyes shortly thereafter.. One eye is infected (blind) what can i do (SMELLS BAD), what rx can I give HER.. Inpossible to get vet here...

I am sorry but only an avian vet can handle this time of emergancy. Nobody here is a vet and can give you an advice and a script for them.


I did a search and found this avian vet for you. Call them and they should be a huge help.

Sounds like the baby may have a sinus infection. That can affect the eyes. If you can get a vet to prescribe an antibiotic, that may take care of the problem. The broad spectrum medication that my vet uses here in the US is Baytril. While it's not specifically for birds, many avian vets use it very successfully in treating their avian patients.

Check out the vet that Steph posted and let us know what happens.
