I caught the tail end of a discussion about teflon on the morning news show this morning...it was a canadian news show but they mentioned that the States are involved too. It seemed to be saying that the chemicals given off by teflon when heated may not be good for humans, and are commonly found in the average persons blood stream.

Has anyone else heard anything about this?

There is also supposed to be a news paper article, I'm not sure what paper...

Angela,

This has been in the news off and on for years, but as more research has been done, they are finding more and more on it. I saw an interview done by 20/20 about 3 years ago and it scared me:omg:

Yes....what Lori said! That news has been around for a while but in the last few months, the word is really spreading that it is harmful to humans, too. So glad I replaced mine over two years ago. I burned more than one teflon pan in my day....to a crisp.

I do hope they go through with doing something about it.

Hi,

I just heard this story!! So scary!! I bought new stainless steel pots last year because of Peaches. However, I still have a couple of teflon pans that I use on occasion...(for scrabbled eggs). Guess I won't be using teflon ANYMORE!!
 I"m so upset that these products aren't tested before they are sold to the public!!

Take care, Lisa

There are far too many products on the market that have not been thoroughly tested! My general rule of thumb is that if my fids should not be around an item, I probably should not be, either! :)
