Love Stinks
Nothing says romance like a nose job.
That’s apparently true in China, where the hot Valentine’s Day gift is neither candy, nor flowers, but a new schnozz.
In fact – the hip thing is for couples to go under the knife together to get matching noses. One young woman said her boyfriend paid out $1,200 so they could have the surgery together.
Business among plastic surgery clinics in Shanghai is reportedly up 30 per cent since the beginning of February.
Someone once coined the phrase 'love is ****.' Maybe it should have been 'love is smell

I'm always telling my DH not to dare waste money on a Valentines gift (I think it is the worst day and only there to make people who don't have a special person feel bad) for me but PLASTIC SURGERY, hmmmmm, that sounds like something I might want. :D Forget the flowers, candy, cards and that nonsense but this sounds pretty good! My nose is good but my face wrinkles could use some work! :lol

All things considered, I think I'd rather he just get me a card or something. :lol

Plastic surgery for valentines day?
That sounds like "gee honey I love you but I'd love you even more if you weren't so ugly!"

Yeah. Even at my office they manage to make people feel bad for V-Day. They have "candy grams" that you can buy for $1 and have delivered to your friends at work. Some people have a lot of connections and end up with dozens of these things. Others get none at all. Amazing how a $1 candy bar (or lack thereof) can make a person feel like total **** Especially combined with the parade of girls walking to their desks with giant bouquets of flowers.
So a couple of us decided to have "food day" for Valentine's Day in the office - everybody brings something to share with the rest of the group. Plus my manager is giving out treat bags to everyone with a note that says "Happy Valentine's Day! Thanks for your hard work." That way no one is left out. 8)

A nose job huh???? My nose is just fine, but this diet is killing me, so maybe a little lypo???? No fricking way!!!! I've seen that surgery done, and it looks like it hurts. Besides, I just don't believe in someone chopping on me unless it is absolutely necessary.
I ask hubby for a mushy card and dinner. The card is mandatory, and the dinner is for us both, plus I don't have to cook;)

Wow, that is a great idea, Jennifer! I don't know why but for some reason I thought passing out those valentines in grade school was a terrible idea. Back then, you could give a card to some kids but didn't have to give one to all kids and I'll never forget one boy, slightly retarded, who didn't get many. Good grief, that was over 45 years ago and I still don't like "V" day! I know that system has changed and that if a class exchanges, every kid gets the same amount of cards with no name on them. Much better but still.....
Dinner out???? Oh yes! That is the one gift I am always happy to accept! I love not cooking! :D
So, while I don't really celebrate this day, I do want to say HAPPY VALENTINES DAY to all my forum friends! :)

Geez. Sounds like high school all over again. I'm getting flashbacks ... :x
I made a cake this morning, a heart-shaped cherry chip cake with chocolate frosting. (I inherited these cool cake pans from my mom.) Now it looks like waaaay too much cake for two people. Who wants to come over for Valentine's cake?
(You should have seen Tim when I told him I needed cherry chip cake mix from the grocery. "Cherry chip cake mix? Do they even make that? Since when?!") :lol

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY LADIES(AND GENTS;) )
May all the days treats go to your big toe, instead of your thighs, or in my case, your nether region:rolleyes:
Yummmmm.
Sounds good Barb. I'll just hop the next flight out:happy:
Yep, they sure do make it, and it is G O O D:)

Bellarains, I don't believe in surgery in any form unless it is life threating. Believe me, it hurts like crazy. I know, I just got home from open heart surgery. I do think Charlie & Pete were glad to see me though. They were well taken care while I was in the hospital.

Oh, I hope everything went well. I'm sure your babies were glad to see their mommy when she finally got home. :)
Yeah, I've never cared a whole lot for valentine's day. I have to work tonight, so I won't be doing anything (although our clients usually bring us goodies on special occassions, or for just taking care of their animals).
So, Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

I always make stuff for my bf, friends and family for Valentines day, this morning I made Hugs and Kisses a recipie I made up myself:p
They are tiny cream cheese pastries with a hershey's kiss or hug in the center, and of course dipped in chocolate with a frosting "X" for the Kisses and "O" for the Hugs and a few hearts on top.
Yummy...
I ended up making 6 dozen because it was the first time I made them and I made too much cream cheese filling...purely by mistake...
Happy Valentines Day!

When i was single i hated Valentines Day. That was in highschool and we had rose grams, same as the candy grams, just with a rose. It was really sweet except for those who didn't get one (ME  ). But my friends were single too so it wasn't all bad, we could suffer together and dream of all the great romantic stuff we would do when we finally had a boyfriend. Now i have had one for 3 years and i don't think we have once done anything for Valentines Day. Highly over rated and waaaaay too expensive, it is pretty much just another day with a few extra kisses. I may keep the plastic surgery in mind for 20 years down the road, after kids and when everything is hanging a few inches too low :( (don't want to think about that yet).
But a Happy Valentines Day to everyone and their special lovies :D

Joe,
I am so glad you are alright. I was not aware you were having surgery. Shame on you, you tell us when something like that is going on. We are like family here, and we do worry when we don't see someone for a little while.
O.K., I won't get on ya too bad. They call me "Mama Lori" around here(I hope affectionately), but I do miss people, especially those who come around on a regular basis.
You take care of yourself. No chasing the nurses around:lol
