Peaches Magooey, our lovie came into our lives!! :)

I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful lovebird!!!! We were at the Secret Garden Pet Store, biding time until our play started. We had been doing research on getting a bird, but couldn't decide what kind we wanted.
We were looking at all the birds, when we walked past the cutest little lovie and he "chirped" right at us.
He had us from "chirp!!" ;)

We brought him into our home the next day. We were excited, but nervous at the same time! I was so lucky to find this website....all the wonderful women and men who answered all my questions, calmed my fears...you started us on the right track to becoming good lovie parents!!!

Every day I know how lucky I am....how many people have earned a birds trust enough to want to bathe in your hands, that just brings a smile to my face...watching him play in the water, trusting my hands to hold him steady! Peaches is a playful guy, who wants to be with us 24/7...he loves us and we are a happy flock!

Thanks to everyone here for guiding us through the wonderful world of a lovebird!!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Love, Lisa, Kevin and Peaches...."CHIRP!!!"

I am so happy for you and Peaches!!! :D That is the greatest feeling when your lovie loves you as much as you love him. I am very happy to hear that all is going so well.

Lisa! I remember it like it was yesterday! I really do! :D You were besides yourself because after ONE WEEK this little one was not a cuddle bunny. We kept telling you that it does take time and patience and I know you didn't believe any of us! :lol When I got Oliver and started trying to get him to eat broccoli, everyone her kept telling me to give him time and patience and I didn't believe it...at all! :lol I didn't have "time" to be "patient" and I wanted him to eat that broccoli immediately! Nope, it doesn't work that way but eventually, it does work! :D

I am so glad to read your post! It put a real smile on my face! :) I just knew that Peaches was going to fall in love with you and by golly, I was right! :D

It's such a wonderful feeling to gain a birds trust. I'm glad you had the patience to do so. Makes life a whole lot fuller, doesn't it. :)

Lisa & Kevin,

Isn't it wonderful what six and a half inches of feathers & a beak will do to you? I have a hard time expressing the love & joy mine have given to me too. Congrats on 2 yrs! :D

Lisa,

It is so heartwarming to hear how Peaches has touched your lives. I also remember when you brought him home, and you have lavished much love and attention to get Peaches where he is today. Your testimony gives all those who striving for that lovie bond much to look forward to.

Give that sweet little boy a kissy for me:)

Hi again,

Thanks everyone for your kind words!!!

Yep, Janie, I remember being besides myself because our little guy was so quiet. He didn't want to come out of his cage. He seemed a little sad....I felt bad taking him away from his birdie friends! I thought he would never love us..

Now he can't wait to come out of his cage, he loves broccoli and green beans..doesn't bite....although he does have an affinity for daddy's chin for some reason! We swear that he chirps, "ma ma!!" LOL

Butterfly...you are right...it is very hard to put into words the joy our lovies bring to us!!

I gave Peaches a "kissy" from all his friends at the lovebird board!!! :)
You guys are awesome!! Love, Lisa

Happy anniversary.

It's been almost 2 years for me and Ditto too. :) I can't imagine not having him here. I never knew a little bird could be so much fun. And to think it was just supposed to be a babysitting job!

Give peaches a skritch for me!
