and I sure wish I could take Lucky with me! Hubby is going to look after all my pets and I am sure he will do a good job. Lucky is such a velcro birdy and he will be away working everyday. I do hope that she will adjust to the fact that mom will be gone for a week....better yet, I do hope mom adjusts while she is away:cry: ). He will leave her out in the birdroom for the day (normal routine when I am not at home) and let her out to the rest of the house for one or two hours at night before bedtime. Any other vacationers out there with fid sitting stories?

Yep,

My hubby or Son usually watch my fids when I go out of town. They do fine, but they sure are glad when their Mommy gets home. It is however usually a good bonding moment with my hubby. Tell him to give Lucky a little comfort millet spray while you are gone.

CUBA?????? Oh my, I would love to go to Cuba! :)

I'm sure your birdies will be fine but I know that it's hard to leave them and especially a velcro birdie! The first time I left Oliver in my hubby's care, he took him to work! :lol Then told me he couldn't get anything done with Oliver hopping all over his desk! :D Don't know why he didn't put him in his cage but, he didn't! I try to plan any out of town trips around my husbands schedule so that he will be home if I have to be gone but we have a short trip coming up the first of April and both will be gone. The care of my birds will go to my two sons, 23 and 20, and that is not ideal. They'll be fed but not much more than that so instead of my being gone three nights, I've cut my part of the trip down to one night! Fortunately, my husband is getting used to my fear/unhappiness of leaving my birds and even suggested that I meet him on Sunday and come home on Monday! :D

Hope your trip is a good one and it sounds like Lucky's routine will be a normal as possible. :)

Lucky should be just fine. It's nice that you have your husband to look after her, and to let her out. I was supposed to be going to Australia this summer, but I think that may have to wait. I'm also planning on going to Europe for a week or two, but that won't be until next year. The only time I'll be away from my fids is when I go down to my grandparents house. But that's usually for less than a week.

Well, I don't know whether I am sad or relieved! My trip to Cuba did not pan out (the girl I was gonna travel with backed out last minute). All that worrying about leaving Lucky at home....and here I am....Home! Lucky is thanking me very much although I am back to work now and she has to spend the days without me. When I arrive home she is stuck to me like glue. Oh my, I am in birdy heaven!!

I'm sorry that the trip didn't work out. But, Lucky must be happy, at least during the night. :)
