I came across this offer last August while researching lovies and kind of considered it. But now I'm not so sure if its even worth the risk. There are two sites that say the same thing. The only difference is that the word "parrot" is replaced with "lovebird" and vice versa. Has anyone heard of this product/ or bought this product?

Save your money! Love, kindness and patience is the best way to get the lovie companion you want. Trust relationships are built over time and not by "training!" All parrots are wild creatures that we have tamed. They are not domesticated like cats/dogs. You can't train out instinct. We have to accept it and learn to deal with it. There are no short cuts. Trust me. I have 2 macaws who have lived with me since 1990. One absolutely adores me and I can do anything with him. His female companion is very jealous and would take me apart in very little pieces, given the opportunity. I can handle her but I've got to be on my guard when I do. I've gotten seriously bitten several times and there's no training out this kind of behavior. Get to know your own bird and build the relationship from there. :)

Kumashe,

There is no secret to taming a lovebird, there are however different levels of tame. You may indeed get a cuddly, loving companion, or you may get one that just loves to interact, cut does not like to be confined to a snuggle. Both are good though, just different, just like people;)

As Linda said, save your money. No amount of training will earn your lovies trust, only time, love, patience and everyday interaction will achieve it. It is hard sometimes when you just want to cuddle your lovie, and even harder when you get your feelings hurt by a bite, but these are all on the road to forming a bond, so be prepared for the long haul, I promise, it will be worth it all:)

Give your lovie the time. You will see small signs of trust, and those are the building blocks to bonding.

Yeah, I figured that much. I just found it interesting that the seller claims there is.

I agree, save your money or at least buy some cool toy with it. You will find much much more useful information in these forums than you will in a gimic like that. I was lucky to get Kameko as a handfed suggley baby but even then you have to build trust. Just have patience, it will pay of in the end.
