Now THAT is scary. While it is not so bad with the virus not being passed to humans except through extremely close association with birds, if the virus were to mutate to an airborne form so it WAS passed easily AND it keeps its virility to live in the blood stream, I would think that it could be a worse pandemic than the 'flu of 1917.

This has the potential to be much much worse than originally anticipated...makes me wanna close up my windows, doors and seal the whole house from the outside....ugh

This isn't new information.

When they did the first autopsies of the infected people who died from the disease they discovered ALL of their organs were infected with the flu and most of them died from massive hemorrhaging of every organ, predominantaly the kidneys. In fact, the doctors thought the patients looked more like those infected with ebola than those infected with flu. This is caused by blood attempting to destroy the virus and carrying it all through the body. It is rare for this to happen with flu virus, but they have know that it lives in the blood stream for a couple of years now. This is also the reason it will kill the patients that are most healthy, because it will turn your immune system into overdrive and your own immune system will kill you. The healthier your immune system, the greater your chance of not surviving.
