I've been trying to handle Reuben little by little in the past week. He will sit on my shoulder(like right now). He still doesn't know about my hands... they frighten him easy. I just held a brush of millet up to him and he ate it... with my hands there!!! That is a first.

I'm trying not to grab him out of the cage if it can be helped(I have forced him out a couple of times... but it just freaks him out). Now I just open the door and he will climb out(sometimes). I put my arm out and he will hop up to my shoulder if he sees my hands anywhere near. He likes to sit just behind my head and watch the world.

Sounds like you are making great progress with Reuben! It takes time to build a trust relationship and you have to go at your own bird's pace. He is in an unfamiliar situation and needs time to slowly adjust. Trust me. The extra time you spend now will come back to you ten fold later! There are no short cuts, at least not good ones.
