Every day I learn something new about my lovies. When I moved into Merrill Gardens over a year ago they had two lovies. Thourgh they were males. About a month ago they were caught breeding.( Romeio & Juliet) Put a nest cage up and now have two eggs. One of the boys has laid some eggs.
Charlie & Pete, who live with me are my constant companions. After having them for about 6 months they follow me, sit on my head or chest, go back to their cage if I leave the apartment, or play in the curtains. I never knew how much joy a person could receive from having lovies for pets. They make my day.:2cents:
p.s. will take a picture of R & J's home, put in Charlie & Pete's album, and see what you think.

Joe: You are so RIGHT!!! My lovies, like yours, bring so much joy to my life. I'm glad to hear Pete and Charlie have been bonding with you and using you as a human play gym:D :D .

Joe, isn't it wonderful to have them around? No matter how bad my day is, when I come home the birds are all excited and chirping, and they hop on my shirt and climb all over me, just like yours do for you, and then everything's better. :)

Joe,
I have to agree that birds are wonderful to have as companions! They are always happy to see me when I come home and all they ask is that I take care of them and love them! Not too hard to do, considering all the joy I get in return.

Nothin like walkin in the house after a long day, open a few cage doors, and let the birdies fly.....then they proceed to land on your head, shoulders etc...and poop all over your "work clothes"...I gotta hand it to them....they demonstrate what I wanna TELL my boss sometimes....POO ON YOU !!!!!

Joe...

I understand completely...they are a delight...I am so happy I made the decision to get a lovebird...JOY>>>JOY>>>JOY...

We have always interacted with wild birds and enjoyed their presence wherever we've been located...I love to wake to wildbird song...and still do...lovies sleep in...

My husband comes home from a stressful workday...gets in the tub...(he is a water/bath person)...and unwinds as he chirps to the lovies in the next room...they love the sound of running water...he can distinguish their individual calls now and of course they respond to his...

Enjoy...!!!

We have Robins nesting at our front door for the second year in a row...2 babies hatched and starting to feather last weekend...last year 3 babies...I saw them fledge and had to keep the neighborhood cat's away...lovies with babies must be fun to watch...will you hand-feed... handle them...or let their parent's do all the work...?
