Hi,
Our local aviary Birdworld, is having an auction and on reading the catalogue
I find they have a masked -white purino, and a masked purino lovebird for auction. I have put purino into Google and no luck.
Has enyone any idea what colour this would be? They are a very respected
aviary.

What that translates to in terms that I'm familiar with is a Masked Lovebird split ino. Purino is misspelled. It should be Parino.

I think you mean White Parino

The White Parino is actually a PastelIno Blue. They are visually Pastel (aka 'Dilute') and also visually Ino.
They are very nice birds. Just think of a Pastel Blue ('White') but with White flight feathers, black eyes, and lighter colouring.

Here is a PastelIno Blue ('White Parino')

And here are a pair of PastelIno Green ('Yellow Parino')

And a PastelIno SF Violet Blue ('Cobalt Parino')

Please be aware of this, Birdworld are crooks and give birds false names in order to fetch higher prices. In Peachface Lovebirds, they came up with the name 'WF Brown' for Mauve Cinnamons and sell them for $2000 a pair. They are only worth $60 a pair.

I just had a read through the catalogue, it says Violet, Cobalt, and Dilutes are all dominant mutation and market price is $120 each. In Australia, we don't have Cobalts, and 'Dilute' (Pastel) is a recessive mutation. The real market price for these birds is around $20-$30

It says 'Purino' is a sex linked mutation, it is actually a PastelIno which is a combination of 2 allelic recessive mutations. Market price $250 a pair:lol I had to laugh at that. They are $100 a pair but you i picked up my PastelIno SF Violet Blue for $30.

All of their birds are overpriced and the genetic outcomes they have supplied on the site are mostly wrong anyway.

Thanks Jeremy,
I have bought two lutino Fischers from them at $100 each, the rest of my fischers (normal and lime) I bought from a friend.
There never seem to be any available in Perth. You seem to know the area,
can you suggest the best place to look for blue mask, or any eyering lovies?

Sorry, from what i have heard, there aren't a great deal of Lovebird breeders in Perth.
I am in QLD so can't really help you out too much.

If you want to get some Masks, i have 6 in the nest at the moment.

Pair 1:
2 x PastelIno Green (Yellow Parino) these birds are possible split Blue
1 x Lutino possible split Blue
1 x Albino

Pair 2:
1 x PastelIno Green/Blue (Yellow Parino/Blue)
1 x PastelIno Blue (White Parino)

All my PastelIno's are $50 each and all Ino's are $100 each

If you ever have trouble finding any Masks then let me know, i can freight them down to you. Freight is around the $50 mark. They won't be ready for another month or so

Hello Jeremy

I have never tried to import from interstate, although I anm sure the birds would be ok.
I will go to the auction tomorrow and see what they have to offer as I really want some blue series. I will keep in touch as I may have to accept your offer. Love your birds. Kali
