Cuddle-bone, Cuttle-buddy?

My hen, Peepo, is a lone lovie. Peter & Luka are in another cage by her side. The boys have each other. Peepo loves her coconut to rub her head on, but recently she's started rubbing her head on her cuttlebone. Peepo is molting now. She's started napping on the little perch to it. She does sleepy chirps to her cuttlebone at nap time. I've had to take anything remotely shredable out of her cage, so she's got wooden toys, manzanita perches, her coconut, mineral block and her cuttlebone.

Have you seen anything like this?

Meet Olivia the nesty hen & world known catball killer! Yep, that fiesty little hen gets nesty with EVERYTHING. I ran out of millet a couple of weeks ago and just bought some yesterday. Well, this morning I was soooooo excited to give my babies millet again. Daisy chowed down as did Molly & Piper. What did Olivia do? Took 2 bites and then chewed off all the millet pods (they are laying on the bottom of the cage), chewed up the stalk and tucked it into her tail feathers :eek: :eek: Sounds like Peepo & Olivia came from the same mold.

Does Peepo make kissy noises at her cuttlebone? :lol yes. She makes kissy noises at good familiar things like me, my children, and her cuttlebone. She'd bite the kids if they offered her a hand, but she kisses at them anyway.

Hens are pretty weird, gotta love them. As a lone bird, I give her extra attention and more out-time than the boys get. She likes that, and flaunts it to them.

It's cuttle-lovin' here... dare I say... romanicin' the cuttlebone?:lol
