Regurgitating Lovie

This is so gross! Why does my lovie keep regergitating while my daughter is holding him???? The lady who gave him to me said he would do this with her but its really nasty watching it lol...You can hear him grinding the food up and it sounds nasty! Ive never had a bird do this before. Any ideas???

There are two possible reasons for your 'gacking' lovie.
One, he's bonded with your daughter and is recognizing her as his mate, trying to feed her.
Two, he's possibly ill. Vomiting accompanied by listlessness, fluffed up feathers, watery poops is a cause for concern.
Since this only happens with your daughter, I'd say it's the first reason!
Yuck, but hey, that's what birdies do !!!
It's likely a phase brought on by hormones, so best you can do is wait it out, don't encourage it, but don't DIScourage it. Its' not wrong behaviour, at least not in a birds' mind.

Yep, I'm going with Kimmie's "first" reason.....he's in love and your daughter is his chosen one! :whistle: My older bird, Oliver, was past this stage (I guess) when I adopted him but the younger two gack all the time but not to me. Shy gacks to a birdie buddy and Big Boi gacks to Oliver! And sometimes Shy gacks to Oliver, too. Poor Oliver seems clueless about what they're trying to do and usually puts his head down and won't receive their gift of gack! :D Or, he tries to bite them! :lol

Awwww, he's in love :happy: I have two of mylovies who do this to me quite a bit - actually, everyday. Sometimes they do this to they're toys. Once you get use to it, you'll appreciate the fact that he loves your daughter and isn't bitey instead :D

LOL thats too funny! I will let my daughter she has finally found a boyfriend hehehehe...She is only 14 so she can keep this one LOL. Luckily he isnt spitting the food out when he does it. Other than that he is perfectly fine :O) Thanks ladies!
