Can these little guys be put together??
Can two males be put together? Two females?
Edit: Maybe I don't want them to meet, because I don't want to be responsible for any little babies...We just don't know what to do with Catalina (we found her recently and she is currently living with my mom)

No reason not to - as long as you quarantine for 30 days, then introduce slowly to see if they get along. Males often form pair bonds together, females less so. If noone claims your pretty pied found bird, I would make sure to dna test them both before the quarantine period is up so we can better advise how likely they are to coexist. even if they are different sexes, some older hens will NOT accept young males, and there are other behaviours from hen pairings to look for.

Once 30 day quarantine is over for the Pied Blue lovie, you can put them in side by side cages to see how they react to each other. Since the new lovie found your mom, there's no telling where he/she has been so you don't know what he's been exposed to. Vet testing will not find any illness that happens to be in incubation stage so you need to wait and be patient.
How these 2 will get along is hard to say. I have several pairs of hens that get along famously but that's the exception rather than the rule. You usually have a dominate bird and that one is capable of seriously injuring or killing a less dominate bird. Two males will generally get along, more so that 2 hens. Then again, you may have male & female which could produce offspring..... I would DNA test to find out.

Very pretty Pied Blue lovie :) Since this new lovebird "found" you, I'd be sure to take it to an avian vet for a "Well Bird Check". If you've never taken Chico in, I'd do the same. After the itintial checkup, then you'll want to have an annual check. We do this for our cats & dogs, but many don't realize that birds need vet care too. The vet can also do a DNA test and wing clips. If you need the name of a local "Avian" vet, look in the Resource Library towards the bottom. They are listed by state. :2cents:
