I do not need another parrot.
So the bird fair in my area opens today - turns out a lot of the scheduled vendors from NC couldn't make it due to flooding. Once I got out there, even with the smaller number of vendors, there were a large variety of toys, cages, perches and food - silly me for buying food the other day :(

There is a lutino cinnamon indian ringneck there that I would LOVE to bring home. She's $250. She loves me. I had her eyes pinning like mad and she even let me tip her backwards into my palm. She burrowed in my hair. OI. I can't reach my husband. I want that bird. I DONT NEED ANOTHER PARROT. Yet. I also scritched a sulfur crested cockatoo who did a pretty bobbing dance and spun for us a few times and laughed!
After that, I didn't dare look at the lovebirds for too long, though I did see a double dark green series pied. Beautiful bird. EEK. Move along!

So.. any opinions on ringnecks? :) Please tell me they are too loud for apartments! I hope she's not there tomorrow... :-o

I did end up buying a natural wood playgym for $20 and a knotted rope circle for $10 - so far Noodles loves the playgym and the quick link on the circle!

I can't stop thinking about that ringneck.

I don't know much about ringnecks, but I saw a plumheaded one the other day for the first time and oh my, are they gorgeous!!!

You need another parrot...you need another parrot...hehe...

Yeah, we've come to the conclusion that I do need another parrot but my husband has told me no :) about 12 times in a row. So this lime green cutie will have to go to another, hopefully forever home.

Sigh. Lots of time for birds, I say!

Dave, they had a proven pair of blue ringnecks - gorgeous but no babies wanted here!

Oh I love birdfairs. I always get into trouble and there's one coming up on the 16th  Now with me keeping my brother's B&G for about 8 wks, I think I REALLY need to go ;)

yes! The B&G needs reasons to want to come visit Auntie - my aunties always had the best toys and food :)

We adopted an older ringneck and he has a REALLY LOUD AND PIERCING screech that can wear quickly on the nerves. I'm sure apartment neighbors would not appreciate it......Now a good apartment bird, besides lovies, are Meyer's parrots. They are relatively quiet and they have this high pitch chirp that isn't really bothersome at all. They are in the poicephelus family, which also includes senegals and brown headed parrots. I have two of them and love them bunches:D .

Kristin, the first rule of going to a bird fair is never touch a bird and don't even look at one if you can keep from it! :lol The only bird I ever held was the first time I met Jeanette and she had a WF Violet. I knew I was a goner if it had turned out to be a male....it wasn't, but that was enough for me and I put my "order" in that very day. All Jackie's fault. You do not want to go to a bird fair with that girl! Trouble in every isle!

So.. if I ever get to a birdfair with you two.. Janie will be the angel at my left and Jackie the devil at my right? ;)

I can see this could be interesting!

I haven't yet been to a bird fair and hopefully never will - I ALWAYS give into temptation :lol

That being said, Beetle's breeder has a pretty little seagreen baby boy that I want SO badly...

ANYHOO! So no ringnecks for you, huh? I really wanted you to have that bird -- psittacula parrots are illegal to own in NJ so I had hoped to own one vicariously through you ;)
