PARROT!!!!!
I know better. Someone should just slap me:lol
I went to Bed Bath and Beyond today, and of course there is a petstore right there. They had four little Fischer lovebirds and in with them was one little OF lutino. OMG, was s/he ever gorgeous, and get this..... They think this lovebird is a plain lovebird, and all the Fischer's are Fancy Lovebirds. They were only asking $49.95 for this little one, and I'm still debating on going back to get it. I probably need to have me head examined:rolleyes:
I do have an extra cage;)

Lori, for heavens sake, what is wrong with you??? Go back and get that baby!!!!! Just put one foot in front of the other till you get there! :D Once she's all settled in, you can find a buddy for her!
Seriously, honey if you want it, you should go back and get it. Tim is so preoccupied with Doodle Dan or Dandy Doodle or what ever he's calling BooBoo, that he won't notice for months!

The PF Lutino sounds CUTE!!! :D
What is the difference from a Fancy Lovebird and a Regular Lovebird??

That is a great question, Kelly! Lori, you better be very careful with your answer.....my Oliver is the most common and cheapest lovie you can buy and they don't get any prettier than he is! ;)

Janie,
You are fired!!!!!! You are the one who is supposed to keep me in line, and now look what you've gone and done. I do believe you have slipped over to the dark side:lol
Kelly,
There is no such thing as a Fancy Lovebird. I guess it's just a petstore name to say, "This one cost more, because it's"FANCY" On this case, they have it totally backward, as an OF(orange face) lutino would be considered more rare than what they call a normal peachface. I still don't understand why a normal PF is less than others, because, as Janie put it, they are totally gorgeous!!!!!

Well you did say you have an empty cage...

Lori: YOU ABSOLUTELY DO NOT NEED ANOTHER PARROT! One parrot a month is enough! Poor Doodle is already in Q. You would have to move your hubby out just to find a place for another lovie.
:p :p :p :p

Lori,
Would it make any difference if I told you that this OF Lutino is most likely a female? Male ino in OF mutation is very, very hard to find!

Linda,
I was talking to Jackie, and I told her I was just calling the bird, "She" because I know the chances of getting a male OF is slim. They did not however know the sex of the bird. Then again, they didn't know what mutation they had either. They do now however, and they also have this site to give to anyone who purchases a bird there;)
I did talk to my hubby, and he was almost as bad as Janie:rolleyes: As Laura pointed out however, my quarantine space is limited, so I guess I'll have to be strong, and leave her there. I sure hate to see such a gorgeous bird have the possibility of going to a home that won't care for her. She is a real sweetie too. Hopefully whoever winds up with her, will utilize this board to care for her. I can't have her, but I can try and give whoever can a place to learn how to care for her properly:)

LORI!!! You go back and get that sweet little girl! I bet she's gorgeous. I know how hard it is to want another, but I also know how hard it is to keep so many as "pets". All the petting, babying, socializing, cleaning, food, etc... I'd do anything for my babies and I'll probably never add another to my flock (except the Caique ;) ). Even though we've all teased you a bit, I repect your decision. :)

I always vote "yes" in questions of "get the bird/do not get the bird" - so why ruin an otherwise perfect record in this case?
Lori, don't dissappoint me. Go get your bird!
Yah, I know - but SOMEONE has to promote the Dark Side in the face of Laura's cold logic... :p

I am the WORST person to give advice on this subject. I could lend you my roommate, like you asked, and he can be blamed:whistle:
I would do it! There is always another room for quarantine...and that empty cage is just so sad to look at....

OK, I'm back and I'm going to show my tough side! :D You do not need another parrot! Lori, the only reason I would never try to talk you out of getting another one is because I know you'd take good care of it and not "change your mind" after a couple of months. Having said that, I agree with Laura! One a month is enough! Send Doodle (oh, that name!) to me and then you can have another parrot! ;)

I just got up, fed everyone, wiped down cages, changed food and water dishes, spent about 30 minutes with each one of them, and you know what????? I think I have concluded that I just don't have time for another one right now. I mean, I haven't even spent time with my cats, or my dog yet:(
So many fids needing a good home, and just not enough time. I will just have to pray that someone takes her that will give her a good home, and that the people at the store give them this site.
I think I will type something up, and take it to them with the site address, as they always have lovebirds. If they will let me, I will also make them a list of new bird necessities. You would think they would be more than happy to give out a list like that, considering it will make them money? Anyway, it's worth a try;)
BTW Janie, Little Man is still Little Man. The name has just seemed to stick, and even Tim calls him Little Man Dan:lol That's what I'm going to call him anyway, He's my Little Man:)

YIPPEE! I love that name and will give up BooBoo for Little Man! I liked that name the first time you mentioned it! :D Has that baby bathed in your hands yet? Or Tim's? That was a favorite bird moment for me! :)
I cleaned cages and play gyms yesterday. UGH! That is a convincing argument for not adding another one! :D

Lori, why do you have an extra cage? You know that you want another bird but choose carefully.

:lol....I don't know about Lori but there was a time when I had one bird and four cages plus one carrier. I'm not sure how that happened!

My husband gets extremely suspicious when he sees a new cage which is why I hid my new cage after I got home from the bird show in Atlanta. It is waiting...
PS I don't know how to make a "new post." Can you tell me? I looked it up on FAQ but couldn't find it.

Cathy,
The extra cage I have is the first Kings cage I bought for Bela. When I added Lacey, I bought them a bigger cage. Thus the extra cage. I am however getting ready to move Little Man into that cage, but that still leaves me with an extra cage:lol
To make a new post, pick the forum you want to post in, then at the top left hand corner click "New Thread", you can then put in your title, and then type your message.
BTW, I understand your extra cage will not be empty for long;)

Whenever I came back from a bird show, the first thing my ex would ask was "How many birds went with you and how many came back?" I can agree with Lori, however. Time for proper care/attention should always be an influence in our decisions to bring in another parrot.
