a trip to SLC

I went in to SLC to do some errands and got to also stop in and see Eric, of this board fame, while I was there. I had originally planned to just go by and see the baby girl that he was thinking would be perfect for Friday. I wound up staying most of the afternoon and playing with his amazing flock of lovies (and also met his two GCCs and Sugar the Too). The opalines were incredibly beautiful. The pictures really don't do them justice. I really loved seeing all the interaction in the flock. I also loved seeing things I had only read about before (like parents feeding babies) and meeting all the birdies I had known only as names on the screen. I got to witness a lovie popcorn party (something I hope Friday will pick up from Sonnet). I wished I had thought to bring my camera to record some of it all. It really was a magical afternoon.

Thanks again, Eric! Hopefully we'll be able to recruit some more board members to Utah so we can have a flockparty.

And after seeing all of his gorgeous birds, and knowing how close all those beautiful Opalines are, now I just have to keep reminding myself... "You do not need another parrot!"

Isn't is fun to go to a breeder's house? I LOVE going to visit Jeanette (Rubygem) and because I'm such a distance away, I stay for a while and play with the babies and everybirdy in between. Glad you had a good time. Oh, so did you take Eric up on his offer for that sweet girl? :D

It was great having you over! It's always fun when I get a chance to show off my lovies to someone who ...well, you know, actually truly appreciates Peachie Lovies. You can always tell the difference between someone who is being polite versus someone who is genuinely enjoying the flock interaction. I don't know what amazed me more - that you got the skittish lovies to come see you, or that you got out of the place without being pooped on... :rofl:

Come back anytime. Any of you board folks that want to make the trek to SLC have a standing, open invitation to stop by as well. Come out for a ski trip; we'll make a week-end of it! :D
