Thanks Eliza! I think I want to move to Arizona now. Those pictures of the lovies feeding from bird feeders are amazing. Imagine having them in your backyard.

Of course, it's a little sad, too, to think that they originated from some people's lost pets. And I hope they don't suffer the same fate as the quakers- having people seeing them as pests to their crops and wanting to "get rid" of them.

hhmmm...ya know there is a flock of 180 cherry headed conures living in i think it was boston or chicago or san fran sisco. they breed there and its getting to where there are so many of them that they might be considered a problem

Those are from San Francisco, and inspired the book/movie called The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill. The sad part of that story is that some people are trying to have the tree in which they breed cut down.

I'm too much of an animal lover to see them as a problem. It's not their fault that we are constantly invading their habitats, even if, in this case, it's not their natural habitat.
