Hi All my two lovies Chibi and toshi Have been shredding millet stalks and paper for about a week . The eldest one was born on 2-22-06 and the other one 5-13-06. I am not noticing any tucking of paper in the wings. I also haven't found any eggs since I got them in 8/13/06. I do have s sleep tent and also a nest box in their cage, they prefer the tent. I am thinking I have 2 boys any thoughts on their behavior. I don't care if they breed or not, just curious
thanks bird dad

You should remove the nestbox, as neither of these two if hens are old enough to lay eggs, and the nestbox, along with the shredding material will promote nesting.

Hens actually tend to shred more than males, but males can shred also. Until you know their sex for sure, you want to put off the egg laying to at least one year of age, so that egg binding, or any health issues will be minimal.
