Hi - was just wondering if anyone participates on the above-mentioned list; I've applied for membership, but haven't heard anything after the automatic reply asking me for additional information about myself and my lovebirds. It's going on a couple of days now, and I was wondering how long it takes for the moderators to get around to approving new members for participation?

Thanks in advance!

- Eric

Hi Eric,
Yes, I'm a member and I believe BarbieH is also a member. Sometimes it takes a while to get a response. I don't think it's that they have a problem with your membership. They've just not gotten around to approving it yet.

I used to be a member there, but the politics got me pi**ed, so I left...
No clue how long it might take you to get approval...sorry!

Kim,
I agree about the LB_List politics. The list used to be a lot busier and I would get something like 200 e-mails/day! I couldn't keep up with it, not even on digest. Right now, I glance and mostly delete. Currently, one of the members is trying to get those who have handfeeding problems to send her private e-mail questions instead of those members posting their questions to the list so that others can benefit from the answers. I don't play those games very well.............

I use to be a member but, I couldnt handle all the emails and was missing most of the emails that friends or other emails that I needed So, I left. Im just going to read all the posts on the list. I just joined again and it took 3days to get approved. So, Im sure they just havent got around to it yet. :)

Kelly,
FYI
You can switch your message preference on LB_List to No EMAIL...so that way your ebox doesn't get full.
Just a suggestion :)

I'm a member over there, but I must confess I haven't kept up with their list at all for probably at least a year. The aforementioned issues (HUGE amounts of mail, politics etc etc etc) just made it more trouble than the small amount of good information to be gleaned was worth. Plus the format of the list just makes it alot harder to follow and use. If I remember right, it was almost a week (or right at a week) for my membership to go all the way through.

I've been a member of the Yahoo! LB_List for about as long as I've been a member here. I do check it several times a week but find myself on lovebirdsplus.com several times daily 8o As with any Yahoo! Group I join I opt for the least amount of mail possible -- I only receive notification about messages posted from moderators. I can't be bothered with an e-mail for each and every message... or even the daily digest! I'm impatient like that :p

I haven't noticed much in regard to board politics but that could just be me. As I said, I'm not on there too often. I haven't had any problems so far but I haven't posted but maybe a dozen times.

I noticed this recently, Linda! I wasn't sure if I missed something (were members getting annoyed at requests for handfeeding help?) or is this member just trying to be helpful... I also noticed another member saying that people could "e-mail" her if they "would like to know things." What is that about?

I'd imagine that like any site, list or board LB_List has it's advantages. If you are looking for a broad range of opinions, you'd probably enjoy it.

Let us know how you make out,
