And I discovered this b/c "he" laid an egg today!!! I was TOLD he was DNA sexed male, but I should've known the horrible place I got him from would lie!

"He" laid it in his snuggle hut and sits on it most of the time, but gets up to eat. Tokkori's in the same cage often, but I don't THINK they would have ever mated?? I'm almost always in there with them, but I guess...
Tokkori's not feeding Tobey and they don't sit together or preen each other...(They sit near each other and like playing with toys together, more like buddies than mates!)

I need to get the egg candle tested! There's a good chance it's just an infertile egg...I have the heat and humidity up in the bird room b/c Ava (my Ekkie) had an (infertile) egg she needed to pass (and she finally did!), but maybe the conditions caused egg laying in Tobey?

I just can't think of Tobey as a girl!

Yep, it's happened many times. A DNA test for male can be wrong, but if it says a hen, you gotta hen.

I kinda like Tobey for a girl name. Nowdays we have lots of what used to be guy names for girls, so Tobey is just fine. Just have to get the gender change down pat. It is hard to start say "she" instead of "he", or vice-versa in my case. I had Bella, which had to change to Bela. Just a little change of the spelling, and "she" went to a "he":lol

How strange is it that Tobey passed on egg when Ava did... what an odd coincidence! Mark that on your calendar for sure in case it happens again...

Well Tobey has laid a total of 3 eggs, but none of them are fertile. I'm GLAD but still a little sad...>o
