When building a playstand with Tinker Toys do you use the plastic or wooden Tinker Toys?

Mine is made out of plastic, because that was all I could find. Lovebirds can grip either, but I would think they would be more inclined to chew the wooden ones, and I don't know if the dye they use on the wooden pieces is non-toxic for birds or not.

Mine are wooden and they love to chew on it. It's fine by me because it then becomes a multi purpose toy. The dye is safe for them.

The lovebirds and the bugies play play with their Tinker Toys a lot. There was some fighting because Miss Blu and Miss Pheobe did not want to share theirs. I had to built a seperate one for the budgies. Now everyone is happy :D

Mine are wood but only because they were given to my 24 yr. old son when he was a toddler and I saved them. :D
