Sammy is really getting carried away with the gacking in his cage. It's not just on fuzzy frog or the hat; if they are not in the cage, he'll gack on anything. I know it's normal, but I'm afraid of him gacking too much and losing weight. Has anyone tried moving/rearranging a cage to break a male of excessive gacking?
Gacking? What's that?
Wait... Is he being "naughty" with his toys?
Oh, okay. Umm... I don't think his obcessive gacking will make him not eat/lose weight. Mikey's gacking on his two favorite toys, and his food dish.
Sometimes on his perches, when he can get a good grip.
I rearrange the cage every month to prevent boredom, rotate old toys with new(ish) ones and let his bathe in a shallow dish. I dunno if changing the cage around will help, but it won't hurt to try.
Is that Gacking what I think it is?

I think it's what you think it is. :) Gacking is the kind of gross word for regurgitating for a mate or offspring ... or perches, toys, hats, or people if a mate is not available.
I felt Sammy's breast yesterday and I thought his keel bone felt a little too prominant. Later in the day, however, it felt fine. I know normal gacking shouldn't cause weight loss. Could be I'm just being a worry-wort. :)
Mikey's fav gack recipient is a rubber ball toy, it gets encrusted with food stuff. After I remove it, he seems to not be all aggressive and obcessed with breeding. I think it's true what Jeannette told me about it... as long as they can find "someone" to accept gackings, they pick it to be their mate.
Mikey gacked in my ear once, he's never done it a second time. :x won't let him try!

OH MY GOODNESS that is gross... in your ear??? ewwwwwwww lol
Heh... gacking actually does make a sound. A tiny clicking type noise. :x
Mikey tries to stuff my mouth, but when I turned my head in protest, he found another hole to stuff. Not really inside my ear, but it did crumble close enough!

Well, I moved Didjit's cage back next to Sammy's. (Didjit is his brother by another clutch.) They didn't live together very well in the same cage, but side by side they're all right. And, it distracted Sammy from his gack-fest. :) Score one for Mom!
