Could you guys give me some insight to what casey is doing, he seems to get all excited when I'm in the room and he will climb all over the side of the cage near me, then when I walk over to take him out he won't step up but he will climb all over the cage following my face:confused: If I put my face on the top of the cage he will climb there, on the front, side, back he will climb there and try to stick his beak through the bars. I open the door and if I put my face in the open area with my finger there he will jump on my finger then hop to my shoulder right away. Any insight appreciated. Thanks! Its hard to figure out birdy behavior

Faces seem to be more acceptable than hands are to these little ones. Mine love to be snuggled right up to my face, but do be careful, they also love to preen eyelashes:eek:

Well, this may or may not apply, but I've heard of birds that just don't understand the concept of the doorway. Perhaps she is following your face because she just doesn't see the open doorway and she is still trying to get you to let her out.
