View Full Version : head bobbing..
Cooper often bobs his head up and down eraticly while making lil low soft chirpy sounds.. he seems excited when he does this but i can't tell if it's good or bad. Anyone have a clue as to what this behavior means? can't decide if he's happy or aggitated. help?!

kiwi does this often. it usually means that he wants to go somewhere by way of his chauffeur service -ME - or he wants something that he has to have NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for him it is definitely a sign of excitement, mixed with a little bit of impatience, as in why aren't you getting me that thing i need right now  He always does this little chirp along with - maybe he's whispering sweet nothings to me so that I will do what he wants?????

Tango does this if he wants out, or he was trying to get up the nerve to fly somewhere, or when he wants me to come get/rescue him from somewhere.

I think the head bob you mean is the one where a lovie is happily sitting somewhere and bobs his/her head up and down. When mine do this they are very immersed in their happy happy chirp chirp time and are just displaying their happiness and contentness. The other one is what we call a "juke" and that's the one where the birdy wants to go somewhere:rolleyes:  .

Peachie does this all the time, most of the time it's accompanied by a clickety-click of her beak. I'm trying to teach her to "dance" this way, but so far she hasn't caught on. But, now she will do it along with me if I bob my head up and down. It has become a game where we try to figure out when we will bob our heads and we end up bobbing them in unison.
