He must be tired of sunflower seeds. He's hardly touched the ones I gave him for his usual Sunday after cage cleaning snack.

I know he's not just refusing to eat since he's still eating like a horse. Usually 3 avicakes while we watch tv between 9 and 10, and emptying his food bowl daily like a good boy.

Never heard of a lovie getting tired of sunflower seeds though.

Dave, my three go through phases and get tired of everything once in a while. Avicakes more than twice a week bores them. Hemp is about the only thing they never tire of. Even millet spray is just so-so if I offer it more than every two weeks.

Ditto does that with the his lafeber stuff all the time. He changes his favorite on a weekly basis. Sometimes he eats the pepper ones like they're going out of style and ignores the others. A week or 2 later it's the veggie ones. Then after a few weeks it's the fruity ones. Only once did he get tired of avi-cakes and that only lasted 2 days before he went back to his half a package a week habit (you'd think he was a macaw with as much as he eats sometimes :eek ).

I've never seen him get tired of any kind of seeds though. Usually those are gone within hours. Seeds and Peas he will always eat.

Tonights tv time snack was only 1 avicake (he spent too much time flying acrosss the room and back to me. But it was a piece that was so big he could barely fly with it back to the couch. He flew off the cage and dropped to about a foot from the floor and had to flap like crazy to get back up to the couch. :lol

Monty, my DYA, will not touch peanuts so I guess birds get tired of food, too! :)

Mine just lovedlovedloved sunflower seeds.... then one day *poof* no more.

They change their little birdy minds because they know you will run right back to the store and pick up something more interesting.

Isn't that the truth! These little lovies sure do know how to get there way, and get away with it! I'm on day 3 with my little lovie, and this morning he gave me the biggest scare... He was sleeping in his bowl, he perked up when he saw me though, so I dont know if that means an early sign of anything *hope it doesn't* and this morning s/he is a heck of a lot more curious as I type he's watching me from my monitor screen just looking at everything... Such a adorable little brat! Oh yea he also started to talk to me when I was cleaning his home too, oh oh and he even gave me a kiss! I'm such a happy momma.. hehehe

Yep,

It's quiet amusing to see them turn their little beaks up to something you just fed them the day before, and they chowed down on it like it was last meal. Of course, their ever changing behavior keeps us hopping:lol
