Some of the generalizations about lovebirds are a bit off but nonetheless, the story is a sweet one!

Mrs Joukani says she never expected the bird to be so attached to the family and says a local pet store said its very unusual behaviour for a lovebird.

"The pet shop employee was amazed Bulbul was intelligent enough to walk up the stick to his cage, and said it was extremely unusual to be able to take him out. They are usually not such tame birds."

Yeah, really, had the petshop owner ever met a lovebird who'd had any kind of positive human interaction? It also seems to me that the birdy gets put into alot of not so safe situations - for starters, Anyone ever been to a restaurant where they didn't cook with teflon? but it's obvious that he loves his family, and they did a great thing by saving him, just hope he never comes across a quick kitty while out on a walk
