Well, I will be no longer surprised. I keep saying that, at least.

I thought it was kooky and slightly irritating when all last week, Friday, or Baby, or both would keep unhooking their pavilion from the top of the cage and let it crash on the bottom. (It's one of those that Shy made that use that "S" shaped hook.) Then they would squawk for me to come and see it and perchance, let them out while I got everything arranged again.

Finally, a few days ago, they decided to stop for reasons unknown. I was suitably appreciative. Then, earlier this afternoon, I went to let them out as usual, and take out things for cleaning. Since the huts get washed twice a week (Sunday and Wednesday) I unhooked the pavilion first (since it's closest to the door.)

As I was taking it out, I glanced in the door out of habit. Nope. No birdies. Nope. No back wall...... NO BACK WALL????? I flipped the pavilion around to look at the side that faces the wall...Yes, it was only too true. They had chewed a very large...door? window? fire escape? into the back of the hut. Both my birds were doing their best nonchalant bird impressions. Somebody was guilty...that was for certain.

So... I guess it's time for a new one. Maybe out of stainless steel this time, Shy?

I put the remodeled pavilion out on the counter so I could get a picture tonight when I was back home, but alas, my husband was too efficient for me and had thrown it away and taken out the trash. So I'll have to wait for the backup pavilion to get its renovations finished. ;) Three to four days, I'm guessing....:lol

That's hilarious!:lol I can picture the "I'm not guilty" look on their little face. I guess that's what they're talking about when they say we should inspeact their toyaa on a regular basis! :lol

Lovebird-to-English Translation: Mama, I don't want a pavilion; we want an open-ended Happy Hut like the one I used to sleep in, back before you brought me home to live with Friday!

I've no doubt at all as to who the guilty party is...

Ditto does that with food. He purposly throws food out of his bowl so it hits the grate at the bottom with a loud twang. Then he waits for me to reach in and pick it up so he can hop on my arm and escape to my shoulder.

Rachel,

The only shocking thing I read was that your hubby was efficient enough to put something in the trash, and take out the trash. All of that without being told?????? He gets extra points(or something like that) right?;)

Oh he's always getting extra points :D His two "official" jobs are to take out the trash, and to mow the lawn. Still he helps out all the time around the house and with the kids AND ..........(drumroll please).........changes diapers! And he eats leftovers. And he puts up with my birdies :) LOL.

 Baby: "Nope, not me...didn't do it."

Friday: "Well, I DIDN'T DO IT! Which one of us do you really think she will believe?"

Baby: "Let's blame it on that Eric guy, he's easy prey."

Friday: "Yeah, :lol Eric, :lol ya know Baby, you're pretty AND smart."

 :rotfl:

Melody killed 3 pavillions and put a hole in the bottom of her cozy cave.

Shy, let me know when you get that stainless steel model ready. I'll need to place an order....

Eventually ALL our pavilions get destroyed no matter which model I try. CuddlyBunny and Babiest Bubber are the worst and quickly mangle and destroy their cozies. CuddlyBunny made her last cozie into a sort of lanai model where she chewed out the sides so all that was left was an area for the hooks and the bottom:x .

Laura, if I get to Oahu to visit my friend in Honolulu can I come visit and meet the infamous CuddlyBunny  :lol Please?

I'm laughing at all the stories of cozy destruction. It's too funny. I just read one on another forum involving an African grey so at least we know all birds do it, right?

I'll do one better than that, you can take The Cuddler home with you. Of course, you'd have to buy Beetle some body armour:rofl: .

Laura, I'm starting to think that Cuddlebunny and Melody were separated at birth or something. They are both very strong willed (read: psycho) little hens who beat up on their mates and destroy cozies.
