I have had Layla for just over two weeks now. She is very quiet and does not play with her toys. Once in a while she will chirp when she hears my 2 budgies squawking. Is this normal? I am not used to quiet birds! my budgies are so loud sometimes that I have to go to a different floor in my house just to hear myself think!:omg:

Two weeks is a short period of time and it's entirely possible that she's still settling in. Sometimes it does take a while for them to become interested in their toys and especially when they're in a new home. Is she eating and drinking and pooping well?
Did she have a well bird check up when you got her? I do recommend that for all new birds. My first bird was 7 when I adopted him and he'd never been to a vet but I took him the first week after I got him so that a least the vet could start a chart on him and have something to go on, some kind of base, for future visits. The second two went immediately and had
"the works" done to be sure they were healthy and would not bring anything into my home that could harm Oliver. It is unusual for a bird to be as quiet as you say she is but again, that might be because she's still not completely comfortable in her new home. If you've had her vet checked, I'd just give her some more time. Otherwise, I would have her checked to rule out any medical issues.

she seems very healthy. She does everything like the budgies do. eat, sleep climb around abit on the cage. But just no constant squaking and talking like the budgies. She will chirp a bit when I have her out.
Could it be because she needs more time to settle in? or because I am used to the constant chirping of the budgies that its weird not haveing so much noise from Layla?
The place where I bought her is a local pet store. They are very careful with the pets they get in, who the breeders are and usually don't have too many animals at one time. Layla had a vet visit before she went to the store. I have to rely on that right now because we are without a car and it is a long way to the vet.
Her poo is kind of weird too.. but I posted that in a different forum.

well, I have been noticing that she is very chirpy in the morning and sometimes in the afternoons she will have a chirping competition with the budgies. And they are on different floors! I caught Layal last night sitting in a ring of one of her toys. When she saw me she hopped back onto her perch. I saw her again sitting on one of her toys this morning and playing with a bell. Again, she went to her perch.
Maybe she is shy?

How much do lovebirds sleep?

They should have 10-12 hours of sleep a night. They do also take little birdie naps during the day also though.
