Thought this deserved a new thread.
When Bella brought the birds in, i noticed that Miss Lemon was very heavy in her vent area, so knew she about to lay.
Well no Egg in cage last night when i covered them up, Just went to give them their veggies and in the Food dish is an Egg. The Egg is cold so i doubt very much its viable, anyway i have whipped into the cage a nesting box what bella brought down and have stuck the egg in there. Whether she Lays any more i dont know, I keep an eye on her and see if she goes into the box. Bella brought some dummy eggs down, so if she does start to sit and nest, i take them out and put the dummy eggs in. I will let her do what nature intended, then will section cage off to give her a rest.
Let you all know how things go. I got a feeling she wont go into box as all this move etc as more than likely upset her, with all the new surroundings. But all in all she is fine and dandy.
Let you all know if any more eggs are laid.
Cassy.

I doubt she'll go into the nestbox. I tried to give her the nestbox when she had the clutch that I allowed to hatch but she was having none of it. All she did was chew the door hole into a really weird shape and then ignored it completely!
She's fine with the dummy eggs - before now I have just let her have a cozy to nest in. It's a bit silly because the cozies I have are open both ends so the dummy eggs would fall out sometimes, but I would just pick them up and give them back to her and she didn't seem at all bothered.
She gets very scraggy when she lays - plucking feathers from chest and from tops of her legs - so needs plenty of calcium, veggies, eggfood etc. Poirot feeds her well.

Cassy, Ms. Lemon gave you a gift:) OK, maybe that gift was in the making when she got there, but still......:)
Hopefully she will take a little rest with the move. She is a henny penny though, so I'm sure you'll get your share of "gifts";)

Remember that Cosy i showed you that Lori sent to me, what i have done is got a plastic food container lined it with kitchen towel and placed the egg in there, i then slid over the cosy cave over the container and have hung it at back of the cage, so if she wants to go in there and finish her laying she still got privacy. Today she actually ate from my hand a piece of cooked cauliflower i had put in there. But she decided 3 mouthfuls was enough.
Got the Dummy eggs at the ready.

Wow - that is one fancy cozy for her to nest in. :) Hope she appreciates it! Good idea to put the food box in it - I never thought of that.
I never tried any of them on cauliflower - she must feel pretty happy and confident with you to have taken food from your hand. She always kept well away from my hands back in the corner of the cage.

Ok Yesterday when i wanted to take some photos, my camera decided to die on me. (sheesh.) So looked on net, found 1 i am used to and this morning went out and got it. I was lucky, it was the last 1 in and a display 1, so i had money knocked off of it, as it had been used. ( to be Honest i insisted that money be knocked off the asking price as there were pictures on it and also it being a display 1. ) So payed less than my old 1.
I have taken some photos of the birds that came to me on Saturday from Bella. Was a sad day for us both.
Anyway here is the link for the new piccys. hope you like them. Oh yeah Tori my raggy just had to get in on the act.!!!
Cassy.
P.S.

Cassy,
They look pretty comfy. That little Legs is a hoot, and of course I always enjoy pics of Tori. That is one gorgeous little kitty, and of course, she knows it:)

How CUTE! That Tori cat is a hoot - makes me miss my fluffy, stuffy arrogant cat that lived 20 years...they're all adorable. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Cassy
I thought I posted a reply to your pic post yesterday, but must have pressed the wrong button as I don't see it now. Duh!
Thanks for the pics. They all look very happy. Love the cosy arrangement for Miss Lemon. Hope she does, too.
Has Legs been feeding his cosy by any chance? Looks like it in some of the pics. Little rotter!
Glad you got a new camera sorted so quick.
