Maybe it's just me  but have you ever noticed how nice a lovie's feathers smell? It's possibly just pleasant to have a pet that doesn't smell like a dog or a turtle all the time:rotfl: , but i think birds have the nicest natural smell to their feathers! I've always loved my Amazon Evie's smell, and now i love Haku's smell too!! Maybe I'm just in love:p Do your lovies smell nice also?

I agree, I think they smell wonderful....but then again, I've had sinus surgery twice and I'm not sure that I can smell anything anymore. :D

Most birds have distinctive smells to their feathering. Amazons have kind of a fruity smell, while macaws have a sweet smell normally and a musky smell when they are exposed to outside air! Wet feathers smell bad but nice clean ones are pleasant to have around. People who don't have birds don't know what they are missing! I love to smell my birdies!! :D

Yes, you are in love :) and yes, they have a unique little smell to them. Dry bird = good. Wet bird = wet dog.

Oh I love smelling my babies. Each has his or her own smell and I bet I could tell them apart just by that. :D

Yeah, I'm not overly partial of the wet birdy smell, but the dry birdy one is generally pleasant. Now I'm going to have to do some sniffing to see if I can tell them apart.

I love to dig my nose into kiwi's feathers - he smells delicious!! It's hard to describe to anyone, and they think I am slightly crazy when I try. I don't like the wet birdie smell quite as much :omg: but i still love the little guy!!

The wet birdy smell isn't my favourite but I can tolerate it...then again i have five dogs who love dirt and garbage despite my best efforts to civilize them so anything smells better than the bunch of them when they are wet:rofl:Evie always loves to cuddle after a bath, so I just got used to the wet birdy smell:p and yes that fruity smell is exactly the amazon smell! Nothing is nicer than kissing Evie's tummy and getting that feathery smell! Maybe one miraculous, happy day i will be able to cuddle Haku too...

I thought I was the only one! They smell so yummy. >:)

They have like a baby smell to them, not baby oil but a natural smell... And not like a dirty diaper either.

This evening hubby rolled the bird cage out onto the screened porch where we all sat and enjoyed the extra hour of daylight. Birds took a good bath in their water dish and then came out of their cage to dry off on me.

If you think wet birds smell strong ... try wet birds outside! I still loved every minute of it. :)

Confession time:whistle: - a few days ago Keeghan and Tobin were taking their turn jumping into bowl of water for a bath and as soon as they dried out I had to smooch their clean, soft feathers and give them a sniff. Yes, it's psychotic to some, but fid love to those who understand it.:)
