 my Flapjack usually bathes just his head and chest in his tub. Just now I was washing his food bowls, and he came to investigate. I had my hands cupped under the running water and he went down my arm and laid in my hands and rolled around thoroughly enjoying the waterfall. It was so funny! Probably did it for at least a minute. Looks like we're making progress! OMG :omg: As I finished that last sentence, I noticed how long he'd been out and I went to put him back home so he could eat... You guessed it- I got a nice big chunk taken out of my hand for my trouble  Oh well- baby steps, right?
baby steps vulture bites! Sounds like you are making great progress!

Birdy steps, progress is progress! Congratulations on the hand-bath. One of mine only bathes in my hands. It's fun!
One bath forward, one bite back... :)

They do feel more vulnerable when wet. Just the fact that he chose to bathe in your hands shows quite a bit of trust.

I agree. The fact that he took the bath in your hands shows enormous trust. I know the bite probably hurt your feelings, but the huge step forward in the trust department was great solice I'm sure
I find that Haku is most relaxed after he's had a bath. His body language is totally different. he will let me touch him gently, test my finger with his beak, even wrap a foot around my finger. if i try that otherwise, he'll act as if i'm trying to murder him.

And here I thought all lovebirds did that! When Goof can't wait for me to fill his tupperware bath the hands come first. Sometimes I think I should wear goggles, but hey, it keeps my glasses clean. Then he runs up my arm and rubs his beak all over the side of my face. STINKY BIRD!.....Michael N' Goofy

Congrats on the progress! :)
Sometimes I think Amaretto is part beaver because as soon as he hears running water, he goes all "bathy" on me -- trying to get to the water and fluffing.
