Hi,
Me again:D ! I was just wondering...what's weaned mean? I'd like to know some of the other terms you guys use for lovies or birds in general so I can relate more to words that I can learn:). thank you:rofl:
Weaned means that a baby no longer needs the assistance of the parents or the breeder to eat. It means it can eat on it's own. It usually occurs around the age of 8 to 9 weeks for a handfed baby ( a baby fed by the breeder) and a little sooner for a baby that is fed by the parents.

I couldn't live w/o my computer dictionary:
wean 1 |w?n| verb [ trans. ] accustom (an infant or other young mammal) to food other than its mother's milk. • accustom (someone) to managing without something on which they have become dependent or of which they have become excessively fond : the doctor tried to wean her off the sleeping pills. • ( be weaned on) be strongly influenced by (something), esp. from an early age : I was weaned on a regular diet of Hollywood fantasy. ORIGIN Old English wenian, of Germanic origin; related to Dutch wennen and German entwöhnen.
