Oh boy... my litte girl Diva seems to have an enormous desire for her waterbowl. She takes a bath every single day... I guess she wants to make sure, that Kruemel (her "husband") has the prettiest girl around and doesn't take to many looks out of the window to all those Blue Jays, Cardinals, Norther Flickers ect. ;)
How often do your lovies take a bath?

My Olivia loves to take a bath almost everyday too. I'm sure right now she misses it since she has 3 chicks & 3 eggs still in the nest. Her mate, Daisy, loves to take one just as much. They are very pretty lovies :D

Bathing is healthy for their feathers and skin so this is a good thing! Many of my lovebirds and larger parrots like to get wet on a daily basis. I only question why the time of day they choose always seem to coincide with when they get fresh water.....

Hehe, that sounds just like my Diva. As soon as you change the water, you count to 3 and there she is... diving in it, throwing it all over the room :) I guess she wants to make sure, that I get my maximum of daily exercise to stay fit and pretty for my hubby
I just love everything about them, even messing around with the newly changed waterbowl.

Mine take a dip in their water bowls almost daily as well.
They REALLY like bathing on a warm day when I put their cage on my screened porch and give them fresh water. Something about the fresh air and sun and breeze makes them dive right in.
By the way, I love the name Diva; it's SO appropriate for a lovebird!

Thank you Jennifer :) That makes me feel so good, because choosing the right name is not such an easy task .... As far as I can tell, they love their names. By the way Kruemel is the german word for crumb :)

Thanks barb :) Hmm I never thought about the name Diva in relation to diver ... hehe good idea.
I chose the name Diva meaning high standard girl, the girl who wants to be the most gorgeous beeing and the one with the saying in the house/cage... an absolute 'Diva'

I chose the name Diva meaning high standard girl Oh yes, I think we all have our little lovie divas, even if they don't bear the name. My diva's name is Gracie. :D Her mate, George, I often call by the Polish word for "devil" or "troublemaker." Unfortunately, I don't know how to spell it. :)
Is there a male equivalent of diva? Sammy is my high-maintenance guy.

*Waves* Howdy neighbor! :)
Sammy the Sultan is another lovebird. He's actually Gracie's son, but Gracie doesn't remember that any more. To her, he's just another bird, a handsome one. (He loops like her. :)) Gracie was named after the song Amazing Grace; she came to us as a stray, so she "once was lost/but now is found," as the lyrics go. Lately she has behaved like a moron towards the other birds, so we have also called her Princess Pea-Brain.
My husband is Tim the Terrible. ;)

Aw, Diva the diving debutant. Nip could learn a thing or two from her. Nip needs a few tips on hugiene, she hardly ever takes a bath so I lightly mist her with warm water now and then. My other birds bathe atleast once a week. Bird baths are one of my favorite spectator sports!

Deb, I am pretty sure Diva gives classes. Just bring her over and it should be a done deal. The only thing I have to teach her, so she is a perfect diver is to use the bird bath and NOT the water bowl :)
