I was just wondering if anyone elses fid had any unusual sleeping arrangments! My new lovie, Doodle, sleeps with one foot on top of his happy hut and the other on the side of his cage:omg: . How on earth does the little feller get any sleep up there doing the splits like that:confused: . If it wasn'st for his fat little belly, i don't know what he'd do. Here's a pic

Hi Sharon,

It seems unusual to us but lovebirds do that. Soe will sleep upside down, some will sleep hanging on to the side of their cage. That's how they seem to like it. :lol

All of my boys sleep on "top" of their cozies or pavillions. I want to make a cozy with a perch insert on top so it's more comfortable. Piper use to sleep hanging on the side of the cage when I first got him. For a long time, Molly use to sleep on the bottom of the cage in a corner on top of his "blankie". He learned to sleep on top of the cozy with Piper.

Sharon, I really did have to LOL when I saw that photo. :D It's true, some do that and it looks SOOOOO uncomfortable to us! My oldest lovie, Oliver, is afraid of a cozy and therefore sleeps standing on a perch all night long. How I wish he'd take a load off of those little 11 years old legs and feet! My younger two hopped right into their cozies the first time I put them in their cage and they look so comfortable and snug in them. One of them did sleep on top of his cozy for a few weeks but finally moved inside. I've seen Oliver "nap" with one foot on a perch and the other holding on to the wire in his cage.....drives me crazy but it doesn't seem to bother him at all!

Its so funny how they sleep sometimes and others you have to feel sorry for them because its a wonder they get any sleep at all. Goofy starts off on his perch, then one foot on perch and one foot on cage, then ultimately you'll find him snoozed out under his food bowl. He used his new cozy as a tiolet to the point where I had to remove it for sanitary reasons. Its a good thing we don't sleep like this........or do we?........Michael N' Goofy

Amaretto sleeps the same way usually. One foot on the cage, the other on a toy. He also sleeps with his head IN a toy..it's usually hard to get a picture, but I actually managed to get one a month ago. He slowly woke up as he heard the camera.

I couldn't believe it myself when he first started sleeping weird. He always needs his head on something or atleast touching something. I don't understand how he hasn't fallen or woken up suddenly and slipped.
