Here in the U.K. i use Purina cat food for my cats,.am wondering if any of our foods from our petshops are going to be re-called, or could it just be confined to the states, this is worrying news indeed.
Thankyou.
Cassy.

So far, the recall is just for wet food (cans or pouches) that contains wheat gluten. There are brands that have no wheat gluten and those are safe.

Actually as of Friday night, Hills Prescription Diet m/d DRY, has been recalled, this is the only hills food that has been recalled as it is the only one that contains wheat gluten, the m/d canned is safe. One other hills product has been recalled, it is a science diet wet cat food, can't remember the name, it's a savoury something, and it is actually made by menu foods, not hills, hills gets the wheat gluten from the same supplier as menu foods. but m/d is the only one containing wheat gluten.

As far as the Alpo goes, well, I would never feed alpo in a million years, it's bad enough for your dog without the tainted wheat gluten.
