Has anyone else noticed a change in your own eating habits since you've become "bird aware"? Mine have. I eat a lot more fresh fruits and veggies because I'm buying more for them.

Gracie also likes it when I eat some meals right next to her cage, but that's another story ... That's part of her lovebird mind control.

Barb, I ate a life-time supply of raw broccoli when I was trying to get Oliver to eat it. To the point that I swore off broccoli forever! :D Not really.....and I do find myself sampling all of the raw veggies I'm preparing for my three. I even nibble on birdie cornbread! :D

The problem for me is I don't like the texture of nutriberries and I almost broke a tooth trying to open a Brazil nut!

My eating habits have changed a bit since the birds have come to live with me, but I do not like kale, nor am I a fan of yams, unless they are covered in butter and a bit of brown sugar. Broccoli I can eat until I turn green and I love fresh fruit, but there's generally not much left once the birds have a go at it.

I'm not a good "nutritionist", but I am for my birds. Unfortunately, I don't like what they like. I love fruit and they think it's evil  . I don't like kale or much broccoli (OD'd on it as a kid). They can't have my ice cream, but I do give them an occassional taste of bread, cookie or chip. I usually eat after they go night-night so I can eat in peace without 6 nosey beaks :p Kind of like when I was a kid my mother would go to the bathroom and eat a candy bar, but we could hear her opening the wrapper a mile a way  Fids!

At my house, anything I eat is fair game for someone/anyone who happens to be within wing flap shot of me at the time I have food! Needless to say, I have to think about what I eat or I will spend a lot of time shooing away birds who are intent on consuming my dinner and none of us will get anything unless I take my plate and hide!! I've tasted homemade cornbread, hand feeding formula, and any uncooked veggies I offer, just to mention a few things. My 2 Corgis have discovered that any food grabbed by the parrots and dropped on the floor is fair game for them. There certainly is nothing wasted here.....

I haven't really changed my eating habits since i have my birds, but i have seen an increase in my grocery bill :omg: .

But, they are totally worth every penny :D .

My eating habbits have changed a little. I can't get my two little ones to eat very many fruits or veggies but when it comes to food they shouldn't have Daisy is a pro at begging.. shes worse then a dog! If she is determined to have a taste and its not that bad I'll let her have that taste then shes happy and moves on. In the morning though I have to share my toast or else she flips out... I eat the whole grain toast with the seeds on the top crust and she just thinks that is the best thing on earth. :)

I do not like kale, nor am I a fan of yams I could imagine a bird saying something like that. In general my birds haven't found any particular food "evil" except for popcorn -- it did, however, make pretty indoor snow.

Green beans might be evil, but only evil enough to be attacked vigorously. There must be something very satisfying about attacking a nice, crunchy green bean.
