Found this while surfing the net. It show different mutation of lovebirds in the wild. The person who took the picture is in Arizona. Are the lovebirds maybe lost pets that have survived and then just created a colorful colony??

These lovebirds have been around for a while in Arizona. The flocks no doubt started from lost or freed pets, but no one knows exactly when or how they came about. There are a bunch of sites with these lovebirds and I've even seen some youtube videos of them.

Thanks for sharing. I've mostly seen the normal greens and rarely other mutations:D :D .

I wish I could snap a few pics of these wild love birds. I hope they find nice shady places to perch too.. we have been in the 107-110 range for a few days now and it is the forcast for the next week and a half as well.

I'd not seen that link before -- thanks :)

It's so strange to me, seeing a flock of lovebirds hangin' out in AZ! I can't imagine that... then again, there are flocks of feral Quaker parrots in Brooklyn, NY...
