So I somehow came up with this nickname of "birdmuffins" for my lovies. Don't know where it came from, I just realized one day that I've been referring to them as the birdmuffins.
Well, I just found out today that I need to be careful using terms like this around non-bird people. My friend (not a bird person) had told one of her friends about my birds, how cute they are, etc. And when the friend asked her what kind of birds I had, she said "birdmuffins."
She told me this at lunch today and said her friend had never heard of such a bird. I told her they were LOVEBIRDS. Well, I laughed at her a little bit first. :rolleyes:
