I think it's chirping because birds chirp lol ... I mean I have some birds that are quieter than others and some that are more vocal than others. They are individuals. One of my lovebirds is fairly quiet but the other loves to talk and chatter and chirp and sing. The babies don't make much sound yet really ... well, nothing loud thats for sure. My budgie, she is fairly quiet too ... she CAN be chirpy, but she mostly plays around and does her own thing. I think your bird is just being a bird. Bird's are not silent pets ... fish are (more or less).

I find younger birds chirp non-stop, but they slow down a bit when they get older. Chirping is a sign of happiness, usually, so tell mom to ease off a bit. Birdie will chirp less one day.

I would agree with that having two younger birds that chirp a lot and one older bird that does not. I also agree that mom needs to ease off. Too bad I'm not your mom....a chirping bird(s) is music to my ears. Drives my kids nuts but not me. Dogs bark, cats meow and birds chirp....it's a normal behavior.

LOL... when birds get older they chirp less!!
I have proof that that's a lie :P
Skittles is apparently 10 - 12 and she'll go around screaming then cock her head and ring like a phone.... sooooo no.. they get louder
Kirby on the other hand... screams when Skittles screams...
However... alone.. he just quietly chirps to himself

I agree. When Ditto's quiet, I'll chirp at him to get him going!
He doesn't like that when he's taking a nap though! >:

Right now I am sitting here with my fiddies all freshly awake (and therefore well rested) and its a jungle in here. Two are squeaky chirping to be fed (they are not weaned yet and momma and poppa are attending to them) anf they are louder right now than my grown ups. My male (the poppa) is the loudest of them all but he was a rescue who turned out to be a screamer, so loud chirping is not so bad lol ... momma, she is usually fairly quiet, my budgie, shes about as chirpy as my momma bird but yah the babies are loudest when they get going.

Thanks I will tell her.
I love hearing my little Haku chirp! His sounds are much sweeter than my bigger birds, and he seems so bright and happy when he is chirpy. He mostly chirps when he is playing, so i really do think that they chirp when they're contented.
