Are you OK? I've been thinking about you since I've been watching the track of Hurricane Dean.

Thank you for your concern. the hurricane affected parts of Trinidad, but mostly along the coastline. It was quite damaging to Jamaica and St. Lucia, but Trinidad as usual managed to escape without much damage. Where i live was totally unaffected, and my birdies and I are very much safe:)

Dani,
I'm very glad to hear that you and your family are OK. Dean is quite an impressive storm, packing 145 mph winds at the moment.

I am glad you are ok. I didn't even know there was a hurricane until I saw Linda's post. These are the events that make me happy I live in the prairies, away from any large bodies of water!

We're having quite a lot of rain today, Ammy and Evie went a bit 'rain crazy' and screeched all day and gave everyone quite the headache!!
The hurricane hit Jamaica pretty hard, I am thankful that Trinidad wasn't really affected, because we are never prepared for a hurricane here. We've become very careless, because of all the hurricanes that we've 'nearly' had, and that have changed course at the last minute. What scares me about that is, that one day one won't change course, and that we won't be prepared at all, and the results will be disastrous for our little island.

Glad that you are OK, Dani :)

Never hurts to read up on disaster preparedness! More likely than not you'll never need it but hey: helps to be prepared for a worst-case scenario!

Lots of skritches to your beautiful flock,

I just read awhile ago that even though we did not get the worst of the hurricane, a couple of people in Trinidad did die because of related causes. A fisherman's wife was actually hit by their own boat while trying to pull it out of the high waves, and died. Nature can turn violent so quickly.
Robyn... I suspect that in a few years this signature will stretch across the entire page :lol
