I'd just like to thank everyone for all the wonderful advice I've managed to digest from this forum. Elphie and I are making great progress. :)
She's getting used to sitting on my shoulder now and singing in my ear. :omg: My ears have never rang so much, and I work in a live performance theatre!
She also loves chirping back and forth with me, and will take millet from between my fingers (very gently, bless her heart) and off my hand...just so long as she hasn't got to stand on my hand. :rotfl She's still wary with hands and fingers, but I have a feeling we'll get there eventually. She's had a few test bites just to see if they're stable or if they'll react angrily. :p I'm glad to say that they were curious nips and not full on mouthfuls of flesh (thank goodness!), and that I just sat there and didn't react. Yikes, those little beaks are sharp! :x
She's still happily stepping up on to her perch when I need to move her or put her back in her cage. :D
Thank you all once again. It's fantastic to have such a library of knowledge to turn to! :clap
