My lovie used to fly much more than now. She is not clipped, but usually spends all her time outside of the cage on me.
In the last few days she would sit on my shoulder and flap her wings as if she was flying. I don't mind that, but sometimes she slaps me in my face with her wings:D

I used to think she is very friendly to me only, but whenever I have any guests, then can literally do with her what they want. I have never tried to pick her up from the cage, but someone else did and she just let him put the hand inside and pick her up from a perch. She is funny little bird.

Some birds are just very friendly. Birds flap their wings like you descried often. It is kinda like they are fixing their feathers way they want them or showing off for you. If your worried though you could get him/her a check up at the vet.

Sounds just like my Ditto. He's been fully flighted for 3 years now and only flies between me and his cage. If I want him to fly more I actually have to run away from him and make him chase me.

As for the cage, my nieces can reach in and he'll hop right on their finger. And my friend Eric came for a visit after he got back from a year and a half in Iraq, opened the cage and he jumped right on him too (Ditto had only met him twice before he left for Iraq). Heck I think Ditto wants me to climb in the cage with him.

Kirby has done that more than Skittles.

He'll stand on the veeerrry edge of his cage and flap flap flap flap flap flap flap. then once all the down feathers have fallen he looks tidier haha.

It could be him adjusting his clipped feathers as some do become "out of place" or he just had a happy moment and felt like sharing it with the world haha

Yup! I've got a vagabond little lovebird too :) . Him and me are inseparable until someone stops by to visit. Then he pesters them for attention until I either put him back, or all my guests leave:rofl: . His favorite visitor is a long time family friend with a big Santa Claus beard. He loves to perch in it for hours! One thing I've noticed though, is if there's any sign of danger he'll fly to me for protection. Unfortunately, that danger includes the vet. Usually they have to peel him off of me, or do a body search to get him. I always feel guilty standing there when they do that :( . .........Sure is worth the makeup time afterwards though :D .............Michael and Goofy

Two of my three are scared to death of anyone who comes in....even one of my sons who lives here! :lol Oliver is pretty friendly but after seeing Big Boi and Shy freak out over strangers, he's a little less friendly, too.

Ditto just has to visit with anyone who comes over here. And if he's not out of the cage, someone better let him out or ears will be ringing. :rotfl

Celestino flaps like that when he's showing off or really happy. Usually screaming at the top of his little lungs right into my ear while on my shoulder:rofl: . Celestino also likes people, cats, dogs...basically anything that will pay him attention. We used to take him to family parties but he likes to get my aunt's dogs attention and get him to bark. Poor dog kept getting into trouble so we only take him to dog free parties now:clap

My little itty-bitty (another version of the dittogoofy bird) was all over any visitor I ever had. He'd land right on them, snuggle up, preen them, climb down their shirts, but they better not have the nerve to try and pet him! Then they got a little lovie beak stuck in their fingers. He would pretty much just fly to land on people or go back to his cage. otherwise he'd just waddle. He even kept trying to court my boyfriend who had no interest whatsoever in snuggling with a bird (weirdo). I have to say, he did win over a lot of anti-bird people with his friendly ways. You're lucky to have such an outgoing little birdie!
